Most engine tune-ups begin with interruption: the vehicle is stopped, opened, serviced, adjusted, and taken out of use. DM-XLiveTune™ Engine Restoration Package changes that expectation. It is designed to clean, restore, protect, and optimize the engine while the engine continues to operate, helping customers recover performance without the conventional downtime associated with traditional engine servicing.

With DM-XLiveTune™, the engine is treated as a complete operating system. On the fuel side, it helps clean deposits that interfere with fuel delivery and combustion quality. On the oil side, it helps reduce friction, strengthen lubrication protection, and keep the oil environment cleaner for longer. The result is a live, in-operation restoration process that supports more usable power, smoother engine response, reduced vibration, cleaner combustion, and improved operating efficiency.

For vehicle owners and fleet operators, this is the practical advantage: less downtime, less disruption, and a stronger-running engine. DM-X LiveTune™ is not merely a tune-up after performance has declined; it is a no-downtime engine restoration package that works as the engine runs—cleaning what restricts performance, reducing what wastes power, and protecting what keeps the engine productive.

A. Package Components

  1. DM-X SuperPowerFuel™ (DM-X SPF™)

DM-X SuperPowerFuel™ (DM-X SPF) is the fuel-side cleaning and combustion-restoration component of the PowerTuneUp Package. It is a specially engineered gasoline or diesel fuel designed to be blended at approximately 20% DM-X SPF with 80% of the vehicle’s existing fuel. At this concentration, DM-X SPF acts as an intensive “in-use” clean-up fuel, allowing the engine to be treated while it continues normal operation rather than requiring disassembly or prolonged downtime.

Inside the fuel system, DM-X SPF dissolves and disperses accumulated carbon deposits, resins, varnish, gums, and other combustion-related residues that commonly form in fuel lines, injectors, intake and combustion areas, piston crowns, valves, and exhaust pathways. These deposits restrict fuel flow, distort injector spray patterns, interfere with complete combustion, and increase mechanical and thermal stress across the engine. By helping remove these contaminants, DM-X SPF™ supports more consistent fuel atomization, cleaner burn characteristics, and a more efficient release of energy from each combustion cycle.

This fuel-system clean-up function is especially important in the broader DM-XLiveTune™ context because it prepares the engine to fully benefit from the other package components. While DM-X EngineProtector™ works on the oil-side friction and alkalinity environment, the low-viscosity API-rated engine oil reduces internal pumping and moving resistance,

and the bypass filter keeps the lubricant analytically cleaner, DM-X SPF addresses the fuel and combustion side of the equation. Together, these actions help restore lost performance, reduce roughness caused by uneven combustion, and support the package’s target results of increased engine power, reduced engine vibration, and improved emissions profile.

  1. DM-X EngineProtector™ (DM-X EP)

DM-X EngineProtector™ (DM-X EP) is the oil-side protection and friction-reduction component of the DM-X LiveTune™ Private Vehicle Engine Restoration Package (LiveTuneUp™). It is an award-winning extreme-pressure engine oil TBN booster formulated to increase the alkalinity reserve of the engine oil, helping the lubricant resist acid build-up, oxidation stress, and additive depletion over longer operating periods. By strengthening the oil’s Total Base Number (TBN), DM-X EP supports the broader DM-XLiveTune™ objective of extending oil-change intervals while maintaining a protective lubrication environment inside the engine.

Its active alkaline material is based on calcium carbonate compounds that participate in a tribochemical process at metal-to-metal contact zones. Under the heat, pressure, and sliding conditions found inside the combustion chamber, these compounds help form a protective tribochemical film over metal surfaces. This film is especially valuable along the cylinder walls, compression rings, and other high-load friction interfaces where ordinary lubrication can be challenged by heat, pressure, blow-by gases, and microscopic wear particles.

By reducing friction between the compression rings and cylinder walls, DM-X EP helps lower parasitic mechanical load, the internal energy loss created when the engine must overcome its own friction before delivering usable power. Lower parasitic load means more of the fuel’s combustion energy can be converted into useful engine output instead of being wasted as heat, vibration, and wear. In practical LiveTuneUp terms, this supports increased engine power, smoother engine operation, and improved fuel-use efficiency.

DM-X EP also complements the low-viscosity API-rated engine oil and bypass filtration components of the package.

The low-viscosity oil reduces fluid drag and improves flow during cold starts and normal operation, while DM-X EP reinforces the protective film strength needed to maintain wear protection under load. The bypass filter then helps preserve this improved oil environment by continuously removing microscopic contaminants that accelerate abrasion and additive depletion. Together, these oil-side technologies help prolong piston assembly life, reduce engine roughness, stabilize lubrication quality, and support the LiveTuneUp results of reduced engine vibration and an improved emissions profile through cleaner, more efficient mechanical operation.

Low-viscosity engine oil is the flow-efficiency component of the DM-X LiveTune™ Private Vehicle Engine Restoration Package (DM-XLiveTune™). These API-rated oils are formulated as thinner lubricants that flow easily at both cold-start and normal operating temperatures, reducing the amount of energy the engine must spend simply pumping oil through galleries, bearings, valve-train components, piston assemblies, and other moving interfaces. In practical terms, lower viscosity reduces fluid drag and internal pumping losses, allowing more of the engine’s combustion energy to be converted into useful crankshaft output rather than being consumed by lubricant resistance.

For gasoline engines, the LiveTuneUp configuration uses 0W-20 API-rated engine oil, a modern low-viscosity grade designed for fast circulation during cold starts and stable lubrication under normal operating conditions. Its low “0W” winter rating allows the oil to move quickly during start-up, when a significant portion of engine wear can occur because components have not yet reached full lubrication. The “20” high-temperature rating helps reduce operating friction once the engine is warm, supporting smoother rotation, improved responsiveness, and better fuel economy in suitable gasoline engines.

For diesel engines, the LiveTuneUp configuration uses 5W-30 API-rated engine oil, balancing improved flow efficiency with the film-strength requirements of higher-compression, higher-load diesel operation. The 5W cold-start rating supports faster lubricant circulation compared with heavier oils, while the 30-grade operating viscosity provides a stronger high-temperature oil film than lighter grades typically used in gasoline engines. This makes it appropriate for diesel applications where torque load, soot exposure, and sustained operating stress must be considered.
